Captain Ed Jerome > Voted "Best of the Vineyard"
Fishing Charter Captains by Martha's Vineyard Magazine
multiple years in a row!
Martha’s Vineyard is perhaps the best fishing destination on the East
Coast and fishing onboard the 32’ Wayfarer with seasoned Captain Ed Jerome will make it an experience to remember. Big striped bass and bluefish arrive in mid May and stay through October. Large “doormat” fluke are best in July and August. The “speedsters”, bonito and false albacore, heat up in mid August and stay through October. In mid September through mid October, the premier fishing tournament on the East Coast, the Annual Martha’s Vineyard Striped Bass and Bluefish Derby takes place on the Vineyard and who better to fish the tournament with than its President for more than two decades, Captain Ed Jerome.
Enjoy a Sunset Cruise - perfect for dinner parties, weddings and special events. So, make your plans soon and come to Martha’s Vineyard for a scenic cruise onboard the Wayfarer with Captain Ed Jerome.
The Captain's Weekly Fishing Report >
During the last two weeks fishing has improved with the warmer waters. Stripers and bluefish have been more consistent until the storm hit on July 4th and 5th. After the storm however, the water was murky and had lots of grass making it difficult for any lures or baits to work well. Let's hope that changes fast. However, in the last days of June and the first days of July, fishing was pretty hot. Joe Fiacco Sr. of Belmont, MA had a great day hauling in stripers until he threw in the white towel. Young Christian Carbeau of New Jersey picked up a nice bass in the low 20s as did Katie Kidder's son George with a good keeper. However, it was "team Delduchetto" from Weston, MA that took home the honors this week with the first bass over 30 pounds for the season. It was a team effort for Dan Mike Delduchetto, who got lots of help from sons Gavin, Colin, Brian and Michael to land the 32 pounder..
Let's see what the next two weeks bring after things settle down from the storm.
